Italian club Juventus announced the absence of French star Paul Pogba from the final stage of the team’s tour in the United States, in preparation for next season, due to a knee injury.

French star Paul Pogba was confirmed to be absent from the final stage of the Italian football team Juventus’ tour in the United States, in preparation for next season, due to a knee injury.

The 29-year-old French international Pogba returned to Juventus on a free transfer following the end of his contract with Manchester United this summer, and was instrumental in the match that ended with Juventus’ 2-0 victory over Guadalajara in the US state of Nevada, last Saturday.

Pogba may be absent from Juventus for a while, following the club announced that he would not participate in the last stage of the team’s tour in the United States, which will see the team heading to Dallas, where it will face Barcelona in a friendly match.

Juventus announced on their official website: “After complaining of pain in the right knee, Paul Pogba underwent tests that revealed a meniscus injury.”

The club added that the player will undergo further tests, and explained: “Therefore, he will not participate in the trip to Dallas in order to continue his treatment.”

Juventus will start its new season in the Italian League once morest Sassuolo on August 15.
