Pogacar, concern for the Tour de France?

Four weeks following his fall in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Tadej Pogacar resumed physical training. But he still mightn’t go on a bike ride.

Tadej Pogacar gave his news! A little less than four weeks following his fall in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, where he broke his wrist, the Slovenian gave an update on his state of health.

“Finally news from my daily life. The last two weeks have been good, I have been exploring Monaco and the surrounding area, working hard on the rollers and taking care of my wrist”said the Slovenian, attaching several photos of his training, in particular a sequence where he climbs certain stairs in the Principality.

“Life is not boring at all. The best thing is that I can watch Urska Zigart and cheer her on in Spain.”assures Pogacar, referring to his companion, who has just competed in the Vuelta Feminine and is racing.

But the sequel is less joyful. “I’ll let you know once I get back to cycling outdoors. But for now the hard work continues in my kitchen and garden”explains the double winner of the Tour de France (2020, 2021).

The recovery is therefore going slowly for Pogacar. While a resumption following three weeks had been mentioned, with a possible participation in the internship of his team in Sierra Nevada (scheduled from mid-May to the beginning of June), we are instead heading towards the other announced deadline, which was more like six weeks before a return to traditional training. This will leave only a reduced preparation time for the leader of UAE-Team Emirates before the start of the Tour de France on July 1.
