The Family Committee is continuing its information and advocacy work concerning the need to change the recommendations of experts on the subject of HIV and breastfeeding. After a symposium in October 2021 and a manifest Signed to date by more than 4,000 people, the association is devoting the new episode of its podcast to this theme: “Breastfeeding, so that HIV-positive women have a choice”. Breastfeeding or not, when one is an HIV-positive woman is a real question. Today, unlike Switzerland and Germany, there is no medical support on this subject. Why is it important to let women decide and allow them to talk to their doctor without judgment? How to harmonize medical support on the issue of breastfeeding? These are the questions that the guests of the show answer with in particular Thaïs, a woman living with HIV since 1993 who recounts her combat journey when she became pregnant in 2017 and Véronique Tirard-Fleury, doctor coordinator in education therapy at the Family Committee. L’episode is available on all streaming platforms and on the association’s website.
