In an event held this week, POCO finally made the X6 line official on the global market and the device that attracts the most attention in this generation is, without a shadow of a doubt, the POCO X6 Pro.
This is because it manages to “top the floor” within its category by offering a 1.5K AMOLED screen, MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, 67W fast charging and Android 14 with HyperOS.
In other words, a set that no one can fault when we take its price into account. So, now find out all the details of the POCO X6 Pro to find out if it’s worth trying to import this smartphone.
Design and construction
The POCO X6 Pro is a smartphone that has good specifications inside and features that design language already known from the Chinese brand.
The main new feature is the yellow model, which now features a vegan leather finish to give that feeling of a more expensive smartphone, and increases the weight by around 15 grams.
Furthermore, the structure is made of matte plastic and the grip is good, while the power button is yellow to harmonize the design.
On the back we still have four separate rings to accommodate the three cameras and the LED flash, there is also the POCO brand and those basic inscriptions on the main sensor.
The front features a flat display with a centralized hole and there is also a fingerprint reader integrated into this panel, which is very responsive and well calibrated for daily use.
If you prefer, there is also facial recognition unlocking that works well too, but everyone knows it’s not the safest option.
At the bottom there is a USB-C port, audio output and SIM chip slot, while at the top we have a microphone and auxiliary audio output to guarantee good quality stereo sound.
Another detail that needs to be mentioned is that there is IP54 certification.
Screen and hardware
The X6 Pro has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that brings an unprecedented 1.5K resolution to the POCO smartphone family. Maximum brightness can reach 1,800 nits, there is a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and 10 Plus.
The POCO X6 Pro arrived on the market with the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset and, before many complain in the comments, this processor is very recent and has great performance.
Here, it works together with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage in UFS 4.0. In practice, this marriage results in a good experience on social networks, messengers, video recording and also in games.
The device’s cooling means that the chipset can maintain stable temperatures and this guarantees a constant frame rate, even in more demanding games.
In connections, we have 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and also NFC for contactless payments. The POCO X6 Pro also has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 67 Watt fast charging.
In practice, this set should guarantee a full day away from the socket with ease and charging can take less than an hour. These are good numbers for this category.

Software
The POCO X6 Pro is the Chinese brand’s first smartphone to hit the market with Android 14 running under HyperOS 1.0. Generally speaking, little has changed in the design when comparing the software with MIUI 14.
The visual language is basically the same and you will only notice considerable differences in the control center, which is more optimized.
In addition, we also have the new Mi Sans font, a slightly optimized camera app and some extra menus. Still, the software is well optimized and the animations are fluid.
In short, HyperOS is a maturity of MIUI and not a major revolution. It’s a shame that it inherited the most annoying thing regarding the old interface: the large number of pre-installed and suggested applications.
Finally, POCO now promises updates with three versions of Android and four years of security updates. A great brand for a smartphone that comes out of the box with Android 14.
Cmeras
The POCO
When using the main sensor we can see that the results are satisfactory, with calibrated colors and good detail capture in favorable environments.
In night photos or indoor environments, the main camera starts to lose details and the photos do have a bit of grain, but this is something expected within this category.
The ultrawide sensor offers decent images and the macro is here to make up volume, since few people or almost no one uses this sensor when we take into account that it has a low focal length.
Finally, the 16 MP selfie camera has good quality and can guarantee that cool photo for you to post on social networks.
First impressions
Launched abroad with attractive prices, the POCO X6 Pro is a great intermediary for those on a tight budget.
The price starts at US$279 for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. In other words, something around R$1,358 in direct conversion.
The 12 GB and 512 GB variant costs US$339, approximately R$1,650. Remembering that the value varies according to the market. In any case, the prices are really attractive, and make this set highly recommended for those looking for a smartphone with good performance.
This is because we have a great quality screen, a processor that guarantees above-expected performance, loud and clear sound, Android 14 and longer software support. The cameras aren’t very exciting, but they also don’t discredit the choice of this device.
Now we just have to wait to find out when it will be launched here in Brazil and for what price. Especially because importing became somewhat prohibitive with the Remessa Compliance program.
But of course, promotions at Chinese retailers can give a boost to anyone who wants to get their hands on this smartphone.
