Poco Indonesia Closes: The End of an Era

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Well, it looks like it’s time to practice our goodbyes as Bit Indonesia has officially announced the closure of their Poco website by the end of 2024. Yes, all those late-night scrolling sessions are coming to an end, folks. But fear not! All your beloved content will be swept up and moved to the Mi Store—because who doesn’t want more Xiaomi in their lives?

The official closure is set for December 31, 2024, which is ironically fitting since it feels like we’re all saying goodbye to that last slice of cake at a party we weren’t invited to. Not only the Poco Indonesia site but also all sites and applications related to Poco will follow suit globally. So, if you were thinking of taking a vacation to the Poco Store in another country, I hate to break it to you—those tickets are now as useful as a chocolate teapot.

As Poco cheerfully explains on their official website—because why wouldn’t they be cheerful amidst a web funeral?—starting October 21, 2024, the Poco Store website and app will be less functional than a broken pencil. Seriously, no more shopping there! Instead, we’re all being gently pushed to the Mi Store website and application, which should now be feeling like the cool kid at school who gets all the attention.

But wait, there’s more! What about all those hard-earned coupons and the precious history of your purchases? Before you start sobbing uncontrollably into your smartphone, Poco promises that all your coupons, points, and purchase history will be whisked away to Mi Store by December 12, 2024. It’s like a digital relocation service, moving all your past shopping escapades to a shiny new home. So you can still reclaim your savings and keep the shopping spirit alive.

Poco assures us, in a manner reminiscent of a kid trying to convince his parents that it’s just a harmless phase, that the value and validity of your existing offers will remain intact. So, you can still engage in retail therapy, with all the goods you know and love, at Mi Store. And let’s not forget about warranties and after-sales services. Don’t you worry—your Poco purchases will remain snugly covered under Xiaomi’s protective wing.

For those of you who love to do your research (or just dread facing the music), further information is available via Xiaomi’s customer service, where you can learn more about this corporate transformation—a bit like transforming from a caterpillar into a butterfly, albeit a slightly confused one. Poco Indonesia has promised to keep the best products and services rolling and is committed to consumer rights as per existing laws. So at least there’s some hope in the mix!

So, what do we take from this? Change can be hard, but it can also be just a tad exciting. You know, like discovering a new band after your favourite one breaks up. As we bid farewell to the Poco site, let’s raise a virtual toast to all the good times we had—swagging about with our Poco gear, and let’s step bravely into the glittering world of Mi Store! Cheers to progress, right?
