PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) provides free learning facilities at various points in remote areas of the country. Ruang Pintar that PNM established is located in the area around residents’ homes so that it is easily accessible on foot.

PNM Operational Director, Sunar Basuki is optimistic that the distribution of PNM’s Smart Spaces equipped with laptops and WiFi can encourage the creation of a digital savvy generation for children from underprivileged families. Moreover, with their difficult conditions in owning digital devices to support today’s learning system.

“We try to encourage children from underprivileged families to get the same rights in digital learning. If this continues to be utilized continuously, they are ready to compete with city children and have the opportunity to help improve the family economy in the future,” said Sunar.

Currently, PNM is trying not only to help upgrade the businesses of its ultra-micro customers who are members of the Mekaar program. But also how to provide a wider impact outside the scope of the customer’s business, one of which is by providing learning facilities for children.

“PNM’s commitment to support the government in reducing the gap that occurs in society, creating quality education and creating a healthy and prosperous life,” concluded Sunar.

To date, 125 active Smart Spaces have been used by 4,915 children throughout Indonesia and are ready to help educate the nation’s life. (Adv)
