Arrival of the fifth: 3 – 7 – 6 – 2 – 8

October 10, 2020… Prior to this date, Magic Vati (n° 3) had run seven times with a fifth place as best ranking… He had never raced on a fiber sand track. That day, the week following the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, he trod a surface that turns out to be his favorite, winning two in a row. These victories earned him almost ten kilos of penalty, but he gave the cover on January 7th. Pushing back its limits, Magic Vati was dominant this Saturday at the end of the event disputed on the racecourse of Deauville (Calvados), a few decameters from his household, he who is trained on the Norman site by Stéphane Wattel.

Built in confidence by Théo Bachelot, who signs the 50th success of his career in a fifth, the representative of Guy Amsaleg’s silks has imposed himself very surely. So much so that his jockey was able to take the time to flatter his partner even before the post passed. He too in full bloom, having won three of his last five outings, Node (n° 7) confirmed that he was not done talking regarding him. To be credited with a fine final effort, Madouss (n° 6) completes the podium at the foot of which Forefront (No. 2) despite its terrible number in the stalls, namely 16. Fifth, Marie’s Picnic (n° 8) confirms its form and its competitiveness at this level.
