This Tuesday, July 23, the Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) of Guatemala made a series of operatives in Zone 1 of the capital, to remove items found on sidewalks and streets.

Through her account on the social network X, the Guatemala PMT posted a video showing his officers removing chairs, boats and tents from sidewalks.

The municipal entity indicated that these actions were carried out in conjunction with the Auxiliary Municipality of the zone 1.

“We carry out operatives of lifting obstacles to recover public spaces in sectors of zone 1“, he added.

The spokesman for the Guatemala PMTAmílcar Montejo said that these “operational actions seek to recover public spaces.”

He also explained that around 10,000 materials and objects have been removed from public roads and transferred to municipal land or to the final disposal site, a municipal landfill.

He added that the Guatemala PMT has carried out these cleaning works in zones 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of the capital city.

“Each action allows us to provide residents with better parking conditions,” said Montejo.

Operations will be extended to other areas

The Guatemala PMT is planning to carry out these operatives in zones 2, 3, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24 and 25 of the capital city.
