PM Responds to President of Uruguay’s Alleged Rudeness at South American Summit in Brasilia

The prime minister spoke via social networks following an alleged rudeness by the president of UruguayLuis Lacalle Pou, following the official greeting of the leaders at the last summit held in Brasilia.

During the Summit of South American Presidents in Brasilia (Brazil) a video that would show the president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, making a ‘contempt’ to the Peruvian Prime Minister, Alberto Otárola; as well as a moment in which the premier would appear isolated from the rest of the South American leaders in the official photo of the event.

In response to comments regarding the alleged insults he would have suffered at the summit, Otárola published a photograph on his Twitter account in which he can see Luis Lacalle shaking hands following the official greeting.

Last Tuesday, in dialogue with RPP, Alberto Otárola pointed out that the Government responded “face to face” to the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and demanded “non-interference” in Peruvian sovereignty during the summit held in Brazil.
