Thrissur ∙ Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kerala to participate in the women’s conference organized by the BJP, ‘Streeshakti Modi’. Modi’s road show started in an open jeep from Thrissur Swaraj Round. BJP state president K. Surendran and Suresh Gopi are in the vehicle with Modi. Activists welcomed Modi with flowers.

The Prime Minister reached Nedumbassery by a special flight from Agathi and reached the Kuttanellur helipad by helicopter. Then reached Thrissur by road.

BJP leaders welcomed the Prime Minister’s motorcade which reached the District General Hospital by road at Swaraj Round. The road show, which starts from the general hospital premises, will travel for one kilometer through Theke Gopuranada, Manikandanal and Naduvilal and reach the conference venue at Naikkanal.

Union Minister V. Muralidharan, Prakash Javadekar, Radha Mohan Aggarwal, A.P. Abdullakutty, Tom Vadkan, Anil Antony, BJP State President K. Surendran and others will accompany the Prime Minister. Suresh Gopi’s presence will garner political attention.

Heavy security has been made in Thrissur city in connection with the Prime Minister’s visit. The conference city and its surroundings are under the control of the Special Protection Group (SPG) and are guarded by the armed forces. Bomb squad and dog squad are also stationed near the venue. Around 3,000 police personnel have also been deployed.
