PLN EPI Earns Rp20 Trillion in Business Revenue – 2024-07-14 13:40:38

PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (EPI) achieved operating revenues of IDR 20.22 trillion during 2023 or grew 29.77% year on year (YoY) compared to the 2022 achievement of only IDR 15.5 trillion.

This achievement makes PT PLN EPI a subholding of PT PLN that contributes greatly to PLN’s beyond kWh (non-electricity income) revenue, which is IDR 5.08 trillion.

PLN EPI President Director Iwan Agung Firstantara in an official statement said that PLN EPI is PLN’s vanguard in ensuring the reliability of primary energy supply for electricity.

This can be seen from the maintenance of the average Production Operation Days (HOP) of coal for 25 days, fuel for 7.15 days, and the fulfillment of gas supply of 99.99% of the nomination confirmation.

Meanwhile, PLN EPI has created value creation for the PLN Group in the form of efficiency in the basic cost of electricity provision (BPP) of IDR 1.89 trillion, including efficiency in the cost of providing gas, biomass, coal as well as efficiency in administration and general costs.

“In terms of efforts to maintain the reliability of primary energy supply, PLN EPI has implemented a coal supply contract mechanism with a multi-destination scheme so that there is supply flexibility for PLN Group’s PLTUs,” said Iwan Agung.

Beyond kWh revenue of IDR5.08 ​​trillion increased by 74% from 2022. In addition, PLN EPI also contributed 49.46% to PLN’s beyond kWh revenue achievement. The supply of biomass from PLN EPI of 1.01 million tons also helped PLN reduce carbon emissions by 1.05 million tons of CO2.

Iwan Agung said that the increase in business revenue in 2023 was also accompanied by net profit growth. It was recorded that PLN EPI recorded a net profit of IDR1.45 trillion or a significant increase of 65.37% yoy from the 2022 achievement of IDR878 billion.

PLN EPI has three main programs in accordance with the 2023 RKAP to ensure the security of primary energy supply for PLN power plants. First, establishing long-term contracts with mining sources, and supplier partners and coal transportation companies.

“This program plan was successfully explained through the realization of the PLN Group’s coal supply volume in 2023 of 66.94 million MT,” he added.

Second, ensuring the supply of gas, LNG, and BBM for PLN’s needs. Iwan said that PLN EPI successfully provided piped gas and LNG for PLN’s power plants of 393,062 BBTU or 99.99% of the nomination confirmation. For the guarantee of the provision of primary energy BBM, PLN EPI managed to maintain an average HOP of 7.15 days of supply (security range 6-9 days).

Third, ensuring the biomass supply chain model through upstream to downstream ecosystem development. (Ant/Z-11)
