PLBIO 2025 call for projects – Free Research Projects “Biology and Cancer Sciences” – Calls for projects

Open Call for Cancer Research Projects

Last updated on: 09/26/2024

This call for open projects is open to all areas of fundamental research and scientific disciplines involved in the fight against cancer. The objective is to acquire new knowledge on tumor pathologies, develop new tools, and open up new therapeutic perspectives.

The submission of projects that contribute from disciplines beyond biology is strongly encouraged. However, it is essential that the biological component is significantly developed and relevant to the overall project goals. This initiative emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to cancer research, ensuring that diverse perspectives contribute to innovative solutions.

Collaboration Opportunities

In accordance with the agreement signed between the Institute and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan, collaborative projects between French and Taiwanese teams are particularly encouraged. When these collaborative projects are selected by the evaluation committee and supported by the NSTC, the National Cancer Institute (INCa) will finance the French teams, while the NSTC will support the Taiwanese teams. These projects will undergo a dual evaluation process, ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor from both sides.

Submission Guidelines

Before submitting, applicants must be aware of a few essential regulations:

  • The same letter of intent cannot be submitted simultaneously to multiple INCa calls for projects.
  • The duration of projects is set at either 36 or 48 months. The project must be coordinated by a single person but must involve at least two teams from different research units or organizations.

Timeline for Project Selection

The selection of projects will be conducted in two stages:

  • Letter of Intent: Submission deadline is November 4, 2024, at 4:00 PM.
  • Shortlisted Project Submission: Deadline of March 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM.

How to Submit Your Project

For project submissions, you will need to utilize the PROJECTS Portal. Only the coordinator of a project can submit a file; they must first create or activate a user account. The identifier required for this process is your primary email address.
