Playwright Boris Dobrodeev, who worked with film directors Ivan Pyryev and Grigory Alexandrov, died at the age of 95. Honored Artist of the RSFSR passed away on September 23, informs Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.
According to the scenarios of Mr. Dobrodeev, many feature films and more than fifty documentaries were staged. He worked with such masters as Vsevolod Pudovkin, Ivan Pyryev, Alexander Dovzhenko, Mikhail Kalatozov, Mikhail Romm, Mikhail Schweitzer, Grigory Alexandrov, Eldar Ryazanov and others. For many years, Boris Dobrodeev collaborated with film director Semyon Aranovich.
Among the works of Mr. Dobrodeev are “Sofya Kovalevskaya”, “A Particularly Important Task”, “The Life of Beethoven”, “Red Diplomat”, “Pages from the Life of Leonid Krasin”, “Mother’s Field”, “The First Teacher” and others.
“The Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the Guild of Screenwriters brings deep condolences to the family and friends of Boris Tikhonovich,” the message on the website of the Union of Cinematographers says.
