PlayStation VR2 Virtual Reality Headset Officially Unveiled

It seems that the past leaks were indeed true, as Sony already announced the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset during CES 2022.

The glasses use a single cable to connect and bring comprehensive improvements to the internal hardware and performance specifications compared to the previous generation.

The glasses will support 4K resolution, HDR lighting effects, 3D audio, and will have an OLED screen that allows displaying up to 2000 x 2040 pixels per eye at a refresh rate of 90/120 Hz, and a field-of-view rate of 110 degrees has been confirmed and equipped with Foveated rendering technology to reduce the quality of Surrounds the player for things he’s not looking at, and of course we have eye-tracking and Inside-out technology to locate and track where the glasses and controllers are, and process that data when the player moves.

The glasses will also have a small vibration motor for the player to better sense what the character he is controlling is exposed to, such as increasing the character’s heartbeat during tense moments, or this feature can be used to increase the player’s sense of things that pass around him quickly.

Unfortunately, until now, we do not know when the glasses will be released or anything regarding their price.
