PlayStation Plus has been at the heart of video game news for a few weeks with the launch of its new service, the deployment of which has just begun.

Two services to make one

With Wipeout HD as the first game offered to subscribers, it has already been almost 12 years since PlayStation Plus was officially launched worldwide. Since then, these are more than 1000 games who paraded on Sony’s service for approximately 47 million subscribers. Four years later, it’s Playstation Now’s turn to land in open beta. The service then evolved to convince more than 3 million people today. Announced in March, Sony merges its two services to offer a new service that comes in 3 different formulas.

Let’s go to Asia!

The starting signal is given for a delayed launch of the new PlayStation Plus, starting with Asia. Indeed, players residing in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand are therefore the first to welcome this new offer. As of June 1, Japan will be the next country to join the servicefollowed by the Americas by June 13. And finally, Europe, along with Australia and New Zealand will be the last to discover a whole new catalog of games.

Remember that subscribers to the Extra and Premium formula will be able to get their hands on emblematic titles such as Spider Man : Miles Morales, Red Dead Redemption 2, Returnal, Death Stranding Director’s Cut or Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. The Premium catalog will also offer “Classics” games, from older generations of PS One, PS2 and PSP consoles. Likely to include a trophy system for the most part, it will be possible to discover or rediscover Ape Escape, Tekken 2, Syphon Filter or Worms Armageddon to cite just a few examples. Note that this catalog will be regularly updated and should expand over the months.
