PlayStation offers free multiplayer; know how to enjoy

If you also don’t like going to parties and prefer to stay at home enjoying games during Carnival, Sony wants to help you pass the time in the best possible way! Between the 18th and 19th of February, every player who owns a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will be able to check out the online multiplayer for free. That is, you will only need to own the title you want to play, without needing a PS Plus subscription to enter online matches.

The free period will apply to any game that has online multiplayer modes, without any exceptions. Be it Call of Duty, FIFA or any other game of your choice, matches will be available!

Free multiplayer weekend on PlayStation consoles

Players who check out online multiplayer titles during the free period will still have the opportunity to automatically win a PS Stars digital collectible. Check out Sony’s official statement below.

We are planning to hold an online multiplayer session during the weekend of February 18th-19th so that you can take on other players online during these dates, even without a PlayStation Plus membership.

Additionally, PlayStation Stars members can earn a special digital collectible commemorating the online multiplayer weekend just for participating in this event. Be sure to check out the “PlayStation Stars: Free Online Multiplayer Has Started” campaign.

PlayStation Plus Games Festival

In addition to the free weekend of online multiplayer, Sony has also prepared other offers and rewards for players during what is being called the “Festival of PlayStation Plus Games”. One of the novelties is the 3-hour free trial of God of War Ragnarok, which is available from today (15) for PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscribers.

Get a taste of what it’s like to travel to each of the Nine Realms with Kratos and Atreus in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for the prophesied battle that will end the world. As a PlayStation Plus member, you’ll get access to God of War Ragnarök with a 3-hour limited trial starting February 15th. Trophies and progress saved during this trial will carry over if you choose to purchase the full game.
