Gnagna: players made aware of the electronic payment of Motor Vehicle Tax

Bogandé, (AIB)- The town hall of Bogandé in partnership with the Decentralization and social cohesion program organized, on Monday July 4, 2022, a workshop to raise awareness and experiment with the electronic payment of Motor Vehicle Tax for the benefit of local actors in the municipality of Bogandé.

Bogandé town hall intends to promote the electronic payment of motor vehicle tax (TVM) within the town.

Thus, in partnership with the Decentralization and Social Cohesion program, the town hall held a workshop on July 4 to raise awareness and experiment with the electronic payment of the said tax for the benefit of local actors in the municipality of Bogandé.

According to communicator Isaï Bamogo, TVM was established by the Burkinabè government on January 1, 2019 with the aim of supplying the budgets of local authorities.

“TVM is a tax like any other. It is specifically intended to support the budgets of local authorities to alleviate the financial difficulties they face,” he argued.

He indicated that the tax concerns all vehicles registered in Burkina Faso.

However, specified Mr. Bamogo, the vehicles of the State, the diplomatic corps, the international organizations, the handicapped people, the struck soldiers of invalidity and the vehicles with two and three wheels know an exemption from the TVM.

The rates range from 7,000 to 50,000 CFA francs depending on the size of the vehicles.

In accordance with the law, the payment deadline is set no later than March 31 of the current year.

Payment can be made either to the tax collector or through mobile money transfers.
