Finally a quarterback! In week 3 of the NFL season, TOUCHDOWN24 users voted Andy Dalton, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, as “Player of the Week.” The 36-year-old beat out wide receiver Jauan Jennings (San Francisco 49ers) and running back Kyren Williams (Los Angeles Rams).
Dalton had an impressive first start of the 2024 season. The veteran, who had only taken over the starting position from Bryce Young the week before in Charlotte, was honored by you for his outstanding performance in the win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Dalton completed 27 of 36 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the 36-22 victory – the Panthers’ first win of the season.

After the game, Dalton said, “It felt great. I couldn’t have imagined it being any better. Our team had the right attitude from the beginning and we played the whole game.” Before Dalton’s performance, no NFL quarterback had thrown for over 300 yards and scored three touchdowns in a game this season.
This is the first time this season that the TOUCHDOWN24 award for “Player of the Week” does not go to a running back.
