Up to 12 million tons of plastic enter our seas worldwide every year, which accounts for 80% of marine pollution.
I ask the new Argentine Government to firmly support the creation of an ambitious International Treaty to stop plastic pollution. At the same time, it prevents the generation of waste, commits to reuse and putting non-toxic products on the market. And prohibit the use of single-use, non-reusable or 100% recyclable packaging.
It is imperative to take care of nature for our own enjoyment as well as for that of future generations of Argentines who do not deserve that we leave them the destroyed planet.
