Plant real trees with Horizon Forbidden West – just play

when you in Horizon Forbidden West reaches a certain point by March 25, 2022, Sony will plant a tree. That’s what I call dedication – read more here!

Over Horizon Forbidden West

In the highly anticipated sequel, Aloy must save the planet from a terraforming system that has created corrupt environments and threatens humanity in many ways. As part of an initiative in keeping with the game’s themes, Sony has teamed up with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree for every unlock of the Reached the Daunt trophy. The Play and Plant program ends on March 25th or when the maximum number of donations has been reached (estimated at 288,000 trees).

This initiative fits into both Aloy’s larger mission and some of the game’s side quests. The themes of the game touch heavily on the issue of climate change and ecosystem balance. “Reached the Daunt” is a very attainable trophy – the Daunt is the first major region of the map from Horizon Forbidden Westand most players will likely get there within the first two or three hours of gameplay – meaning many players will have a chance to do tangible good for the earth.

More regarding the tree planting campaign

The reforestation measures will take place at three locations. Covering 278,000 acres, Wisconsin’s Douglas County Forest is in dire need of conifers. Clearing has hit birds and turtles hard, and has reduced the forest’s protective abilities. California’s 30,000-acre Sheep Fire Private Lands has suffered fire damage – reforestation will help support gray wolves. Finally, Torreya State Park in Florida spans 13,000 acres and suffers from a declining pine population. Species such as gopher tortoises and woodpeckers would be supported through reforestation. So one more reason to play the game – Horizon Forbidden West will be on February 18th released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
