Ordinarily, the street art covers the walls in many cities. But it sometimes happens that urban art invites itself into more crazy and monumental projects. We are of course thinking of the Tower of the 13th in Paris where 102 artists had invested in a nine-storey building along the banks of the Seine, or more recently in Colors Festival. This spring, a new major cultural and artistic event takes possession of a district in eastern Paris. His nickname? THE Peripheral Planet Festival.
Since March 13, a sixty street artists work hard to paint, spray-paint and draw on the walls of 5 floors of a building located in the heart of the quoted Python-Duvernoisat Porte de Bagnolet in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.
After this time of creation and residence, the place must open its doors to the public of April 13 to May 7, 2023 for just over three weeks ofexpositionpunctuated by various animations (live painting, dj sets, projections…).
In total, the urban art fans will be able to discover works and frescoes spread over nearly 3,100 m²! The street artists thus appropriate the twenty apartments of this building spread over 5 floors!
As for artists, you can admire the work of several big names in the street artincluding the crew Black Line, WhoseThatGirlTHE DJMC, Ernesto Novo, Chaldea, Lady MM, ski, Djalouz, Caligr Oner… all of them accepted the challenge and created frescoes around six different themes.
Behind the Peripheral Planet Festivalsupported by the Town Hall of the 20th and the RIVPa Parisian social landlord, we find the RAS collective. Objective ? Bring this district of the capital back to life before its transformation, while paying homage to the history of this city and its inhabitants. Built from the 1950s, the Python-Duvernois district will be refurbished. Spread over 17 hectares, the work should make it possible to create new housing, offices, shops and a sports and landscaped park of 3 hectares.
While waiting for its demolition and its transformation, around sixty street artists are investing in a five story building of this city on the occasion of Peripheral Planet Festival. Meet from April 13 to May 7, 2023 to admire their works and frescoes during an ephemeral exhibition open to everyone!
