Surprisingly, the developer Frontier has announced the arrival later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC of Planet Coaster 2, the sequel to the 2016 theme park simulator with several new features, including new water attractions.
Planet Coaster 2 will also feature three modes: Career Mode, Franchise Mode, and Sandbox Mode.
“Splash guests as they float down lazy rivers, speed down slides, plunge into wave pools and ride thrilling water coasters,” reads an official synopsis. “Create an authentic water park experience by offering changing rooms, lounge chairs, lifeguards and more.”
The sequel will also look to boost player creativity, with improved building and route-laying tools, piece-by-piece building tools, and new themes. Players will also be able to customize attractions for the first time.
“Players can unleash their imaginations and create unforgettable memories for their guests using the enhanced event sequencer tool, which combines animatronics, smoke, water jets, sound and more into dazzling displays at individual attractions and across their parks,” Frontier says.
Finally, the developer announced several online options. Players will be able to visit other players’ parks to try out their rides, compete in Franchise mode leaderboards, and jump into a shared Sandbox level to build together across multiple platforms.
Players can also share and download floor plans and completed parks across multiple platforms via the Frontier Workshop.
