The weekend promises to be difficult for motorists in Montreal, with several closures announced in the metropolis. The watchword: plan your trips!
On Highway 40, the area between Langelier Boulevard and the Anjou interchange will be critical, since the area will be closed to traffic in both directions.
This closure is scheduled from Friday, 10 p.m., to Sunday, 11 a.m., and risks causing a major traffic jam. Public transport is a preferred option.
To the east, motorists will be forced to exit at Langelier Boulevard, since the highway will be closed from this point to the entrances to Highway 25.
To the west, the highway will close from the exit to Highway 25 North, and will reopen from Langelier Boulevard.
To make matters worse for motorists, the service roads along the highway will also be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday.
Motorists will not be at the end of their troubles on Sunday since the dismantling work will have to continue beyond the weekend and lead to other lane closures, on dates which have yet to be determined.
