Plan to work only four days a week in summer in Dubai

Dubai The government has announced reduction of working hours and Friday holiday for 15 government institutions from August 12 to September 30.

This is part of a pilot program being launched by the Dubai Government’s Human Resources Department, which aims to improve employee performance and quality of life.

The government institutions that have been included in this plan will not work on Friday and the remaining four days will also have seven hours of daily work.

Staff were asked to fill out a survey form about summer working hours, with overwhelming support for proposals to reduce working hours in offices in August and September, state news agency Wam reported.

The HR department will review the observations and feedback to make final recommendations on whether to make this pilot scheme a long-term policy for next summer.
