Placebo, Status Quo, Stephan Eicher, Louane and Gims at Rock Oz’Arènes

Placebo, Status Quo, Stephan Eicher, Robin Schulz, Louane, Gims or even Yann Lambiel: the Rock Oz’Arènes festival in Avenches (VD) unveiled on Wednesday the poster for the complete program of its 30th edition, which will take place this summer from August 10 to 14.

Called “The 30th detonating”, this 2022 edition will be the last to take place in the Roman arenas of Avenches, which will then be renovated for five years. It will intertwine for five days rock, pop, rap, French song, electro and humor, the festival team announced on Wednesday.

Rock Oz’Arènes will begin on Wednesday August 10 with the legendary English rock band Status Quo, author of the famous hit “In the Army Now”. Thursday evening will see French author, composer, producer and performer Gims, Marseille rapper Napps and the new female revelation of the French urban pop scene Imen Es.

Electro night on Friday

Electronic music will once once more be on the agenda on Friday evening with Electroz’Arènes for a dancefloor that will welcome German DJ and producer Robin Schulz as headliners. Will follow, among others, also on the platinum: Vladimir Cauchemar, Da Tweekaz and the Fribourgeois Le Phar.

Saturday evening will see the big return of Brian Molko in the amphitheater of Avenches. Placebo will release their brand new album, released on March 25, “Never Let me Go”. The French singer Louane and Trois cafés gourmands (folk, pop, gypsy jazz) will be there the same evening.

Special evening on Sunday

The festival will close on Sunday with an evening stamped “Swiss Artists and Humor”. On stage: Stephan Eicher, Yann Lambiel for a special 30th anniversary show, the two violinist and cellist sisters Camille and Julie Berthollet as well as Gjon’s Tears and the Weeping Willows.

The second stage of Rock Oz’Arènes, that of the casino, will also present each evening between three and four groups. The representative of Switzerland at Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Marius Bear, will notably be on the bill on Sunday.
