Place and times of the Vinotinto events in September

Matchdays 7 and 8 of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup will take place in September. The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) revealed the times and locations of the matches.

In this new stage of the qualifiers, the Vinotinto will face Bolivia on September 5 and Uruguay on September 10, to continue adding points towards their goal of qualifying for their first World Cup.

Where to watch the matches?

The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) and Conmebol have not confirmed which media outlets will broadcast the 2024 Qualifiers matches. In 2023, the organization granted the license to the Televen channel to broadcast the Vinotinto’s international games, while Venevisión broadcast the national games.

Details of Venezuela’s games

Venezuela begins this new round of qualifying in fourth place in the table, with a total of nine points. La Vinotinto is only surpassed by Colombia, with 12 points; Uruguay, with 13 points, and Argentina, with 15 points.

-Bolivia vs. Venezuela:

-Uruguay vs. Venezuela:

Date: September 10th

Venezuela’s performance in the South American Qualifiers

Venezuela has played six games, in which it has managed to add nine points out of a possible 18 after winning two games, drawing three and losing one match.

Venezuela’s first match was held on September 7, 2023 against the Colombian national team and ended with a 1-0 result in favor of Colombia.

They then faced Paraguay on September 12, 2023, a game that ended with a favorable result of 1-0 in favor of the national team.

La Vinotinto managed to draw 1-1 against Brazil in a game that took place on October 12. In that same month, the national team faced Chile on October 17 with a 3-0 result.

On November 21, 2023, the Vinotinto tied 1-1 against the Peruvian national team in a game that took place in Lima (Peru). Before the match, the Peruvian Police established immigration control at the stadium and after the game the police officers attacked the Venezuelan players.

Venezuela’s current position in the FIFA world ranking

Following the latest update of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) ranking, published on July 18, La Vinotinto is ranked 37th.

Despite not having qualified for the semifinals in the 2024 Copa América, Venezuela added points after qualifying for the quarterfinals of that sporting event, which allowed it to rise 17 points in this list.
