PL: the almost-departed striker was the winner for Aston Villa against West Ham United

After Joshua Zirkzee Amadou Onana also scored in his first game in his new team in the Premier League. The 23-year-old midfielder was signed by Aston Villa for nearly €60 million from Everton and was already effective after a corner kick in the 4th minute (0–1).

It could easily have been 2-0 midway through the half, but Leon Bailey rifled over an empty-netter. Not long after, John McGinn could have scored the second, but he put it wide. Then, on the other side, Matty Cash fouled Tomás Soucek, and the referee awarded a penalty. Behind the ball Lucas Paqueta stood and was very calm (1–1).

In the 62nd minute, Villa brought down their goalscorer, Ollie Watkins, and replaced him with a John Duran arrived, whom West Ham United wanted to acquire in the summer, he came close, but in the end he stayed and – in his 50th match for Birmingham – scored the winning goal in the 79th minute. The preparer was Jacob Ramsey, who came on the field at the same time as a substitute (1–2).
