PL: both Arsenal and Newcastle started the season with a win; horror injury in Kerkezék’s match

ARSENAL–WOLVERHAMPTON

On paper, the silver medalist of the last two seasons had an easy match at home against the “wolves”. Arsenal had several opportunities at the beginning of the match through Bukayo Saka, then in the middle of the half from the English player’s pass Kai Havertz he nodded at the gate (1–0).

Wolverhampton almost equalized with a header in the 36th minute, but David Raya was in his place.

After the break, the guests played more dangerously, but when they got to the start Of scored and decided the match (2–0).

The championship didn’t start well for Everton – which mainly fought to stay in due to the points deduction in the previous competition, because Kaoru Mitoma Brighton took the lead in the 26th minute (0–1).

After the break, the guests scored again, Danny Welbeck placed in the corner (0–2).

This was not Everton’s game, in the 66th minute the 39-year-old and 39-day-old Ashley Young he received a red card for pulling down. This made him the oldest player in PL history to be sent off.

In the end, Brighton scored two more goals, but only Simon Adingráét given by the referee (0–3). With their victory, the “seagulls” took the lead.

NEWCASTLE–SOUTHAMPTON

The “magpies” could not qualify for the European Cup in the previous season, so now it is enough for them to focus on the domestic series. They started the league at home against newcomers Southampton, and it was predicted that it would be as smooth as their first game against Aston Villa in the previous edition, which ended 5–1. Fabian Schär however, he made sure that Newcastle did not have a calm match, as he was exposed in the 28th minute. The Swiss defender tangled with Ben Brereton, but perhaps the red card was too harsh a sentence. The “saints” player, on the other hand, got away with a yellow card.

Despite the man disadvantage, the home team took the (eventually winning) lead, the ball was quickly passed by the visitors’ goalkeeper Joelinton came before him who did not make a mistake (1–0).
