THE REPLACEMENT of ESDM Minister Arifin Tasrif to Bahlil Lahadia is considered ineffective considering the remaining term of the government is less than two months. Member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives PKS Faction Mulyanto said the discussion of the ESDM Ministry’s strategic programs will not be completed.

“That’s a dismantling and reassembling step that is not quite right. What can be expected from a new minister structurally in less than two months. Discussions with the DPR are also only one session away. So this is purely political,” said Mulyanto.

He explained that from the legislative side at the end of the government’s term, the remaining homework that must be completed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources is the EBET Bill, PP KEN (National Energy Policy), and the Oil and Gas Bill.

“Can this regulation be completed if suddenly the Minister changes? In my opinion, it will be even more delayed. There is no need for it. reshuffle now. The president seems to have nothing to do,” he explained yesterday.

Mulyanto added that what President Joko Widodo needs to do more now is to organize the chaotic work areas of the ministers. Not reshuffle ahead of succession.

“Rather than changing ministers, it would be better to return each ministry to its respective duties,” he said.

He emphasized that the complicated problem lies in the governance and overlapping functions of the relevant ESDM ministries, between the Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of ESDM. Not in the position of the minister.

“This is what should be analyzed and fixed. Not to mention the rampant corruption cases related to illegal mining of tin, nickel, gold, and others whose problems are chronic and structural. Also the issue of the inaccurate distribution of subsidized fuel and LPG which has dragged on and put pressure on the state budget and the issue of injustice,” he said.

“Approaching retirement, stopped the priestThe government should be prepared to say goodbye and step down and make way for the President-elect. Not instead gas politically chase broadcast time injury time. Governance must be implemented consistently in order to create a good and clean government. Not crashing, reckless,” he said. (Sru/P-3)
