The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has not yet decided to form a coalition or become an opposition in the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. PKS is waiting for the momentum to convey its political stance.
“When is the time? Just wait, the inauguration of the president and vice president is still in October. When the time comes, PKS will announce its positioning,” said PKS DPR Fraction Chair Jazuli Juwaini in a written statement, Monday (29/4).
Jazuli said the choice of coalition or opposition following the election was a technical matter. He emphasized that decisions regarding coalition or opposition in PKS are not personal tastes.
However, this was a deliberative decision by the Shura Council and the PKS Central Level Leadership Council (DPTP). Because, he continued, its nature is dynamic according to the degree of benefit and interests of the people.
Jazuli also touched on PKS’s experience as an opposition during the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Including being in government during the era of the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
“PKS has 10 years of coalition experience under Mr SBY and 10 years of opposition under Mr Jokowi. So the opposition has no problem, the coalition is ready. We will see the dynamics,” said Jazuli.

He added that PKS has never limited itself to collaborating with anyone. Because it is impossible to build a nation and state without cooperation.
“The competition is during the election, we offer ideas, we compete for ideas. But following the election the competition is over, and we return to one goal, namely building the nation,” said Jazuli. (Z-8)
