The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) are maintaining hope in efforts to realize the right to inquiry to investigate allegations of fraud in the 2024 elections. PKS considers the right to inquiry to be a commitment to realizing the implementation of elections in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution.

Chairman of the PKS DPP Al Muzzammil Yusuf reminded that the right to inquiry must be proposed by at least two factions and signed by at least 25 members of the DPR RI. For PKS, the right to inquiry is a commitment that must be maintained. However, Muzzammil also admitted that PKS might not run alone.

“Hopefully the right to inquiry will still be possible in the upcoming trial,” he said to Media Indonesia, Friday (5/4).

According to him, the right to inquiry is a platform to evaluate various glaring irregularities during the 2024 elections. Through the right to inquiry, PKS hopes that the negative things surrounding the previous election will not be repeated in the 2024 regional elections which will be held in November and the 2029 elections.

Separately, another member of the DPR RI from the PKS faction, Mardani Ali Sera, said that the discourse on the right to inquiry must continue even without PDI Perjuangan support. He said the right to inquiry was part of testing the maturity of democracy in the country.

Mardani admitted that he was ready to become one of the proponents of the right to inquiry. In fact, he admitted that there were already several DPR RI members from the PKB faction who had signed the proposed right of inquiry. This was known from the results of his communication with a member of the DPR RI from the PKB faction, Luluk Nur Hamidah.

Luluk himself said that his party did not want to give up and withdraw from realizing the right to inquiry. This is because there are many public questions regarding honesty, fairness and alleged violations and practices of abuse of power involving the implementation of the 2024 elections.

“And of course this only benefits one of the candidates in the presidential election contest yesterday. So, this is what we then want to check and we want to investigate,” explained Luluk.

For him, the right to inquiry is not a stage for canceling election results because that is the domain of the Constitutional Court (MK). He emphasized that the right to inquiry is an effort to uncover fraudulent practices and violations committed by the government, such as how state resources are used and their serious impact on the practice of Indonesian democracy.
