PKB Officially Supports Prabowo-Gibran Government (Medcom/candra)

THE NATIONAL AWARENESS PARTY (PKB) has officially become a coalition party supporting the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming government. This was decided at the sixth congress in Nusa Dua, Bali.

“We emphasize PKB’s political stance, PKB as an institution, as a Muktamirin institution, agrees that PKB will join and become part of the Prabowo-Gibran government,” said Secretary of the PKB Muktamar Steering Committee Syaiful Huda at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali, Sunday (25/8).

Another decision was to confirm Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin as general chairman.

“Last night’s congress decided by acclamation to elect Gus Muhaimin Iskandar as PKB General Chair for the 2024-2029 period,” said Huda.

Huda explained that PKB also appointed Vice President Ma’ruf Amin as Chairman of the PKB Shura Council until 2029. Then, the forum also determined the PKB’s political struggle forum until 2029.

“In the PKB political struggle platform, as the theme of the congress, it presents 11 solutions for the nation going forward. Well, from these 11 solutions for the nation, maybe later I will share the details with my friends,” said Huda.

The congress also decided on the PKB’s Articles of Association. Now, they are just waiting for the decision from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).

The forum also pushed for a change in the presidential threshold system. PKB wants the threshold to be lowered to 10% in the 2029 election.

“The Congress also recommended the current presidential threshold of 20%, the Congress recommended that our presidential threshold be sufficient at 10% in the upcoming 2029 presidential election,” said Huda. (P-5)
