Kozhikode: The state general secretary of the Muslim Youth League, PK Feroze, has asked the CPM to stop playing a double role on the Citizenship Amendment Act issue. He was speaking at a press conference in Kozhikode. Yesterday, the central government released the rules related to the implementation of the Citizenship Act in the country despite the nationwide protests. Youth League is leading strong protests once morest this. The amendment to the Citizenship Act, which excluded the Muslim community and included only six religious groups, is a planned attempt by the fascist regime to divide the people. Secular believers should stand together once morest this. But the stance taken by the leftist government ruling Kerala on this matter is unfortunate.

Earlier, the Pinarayi government had registered many cases once morest the protestors who had said that they would not file a case once morest the protesters when the CAA was introduced in the Parliament. Later it was publicly announced that it would be withdrawn, but no action was taken. The youth league state committee alone had to pay lakhs as fine in these cases. Feroze stated that the Pinarayi government has already withdrawn all the cases involving the leaders of the ruling party, including the case of defeating the assembly. The Youth League also demanded that the CPM should end this approach of crying with the victims and running with the predators. Feroze added that the Youth League will lead continuous agitations once morest the central government which is going ahead with policies that undermine the constitution and set an example for the country. State Secretary T.P.M. Jishan also attended the press conference.
