The end of 2023 ushered in the last flagship of the year, the X100 and X100 Pro from the “blue factory” vivo, both of which are also the first models of MediaTek 9300. Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are actually very similar in terms of appearance design and internal hardware specifications, and with little price difference, many people may have trouble choosing. Today, let’s take a look at which one is worth buying through an objective comparison of hardware specifications.

The appearance of the two vivo X100 and X100 Pro are very similar. They both use the now very popular Oreo biscuit-shaped lens module. The front is what is officially called a “micro-curved” front-hole punch screen. The lens metal rings of both are asymmetrical designs that make people have panic attacks. The X100’s metal ring is silver and asymmetrical from left to right; while the X100 Pro is asymmetrical from top to bottom and uses a more luxurious gold color. Both models are available in an orange rippled plain leather version, which is slightly lighter than the ordinary glass version.

In terms of screens, vivo has not kept up with this wave of “flatness”, but has adopted a more eclectic slightly curved screen. Both machines use the same screen, equipped with 1.5K resolution and a maximum brightness of 3000nits. The processor uses MediaTek’s annual flagship Dimensity 9300, which is the first to use a full-core CPU combination and is rated higher than Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is produced using TSMC’s 4nm process. The two machines offer a variety of ROM and RAM combinations, and the X100 also offers a higher-end LPDDR5T RAM limited edition to choose from.

The biggest difference between the X100 and the X100 Pro is the camera specifications. Although both seem to be equipped with three Zeiss T* coating processes of 50 million pixels, the main lens of the X100 Pro is equipped with the same Sony one-inch lens as the previous generation. The X100 has a large outsole sensor, while the X100 has a smaller 1/1.49-inch sensor. The X100 Pro has also made great efforts in telephoto, and has Zeiss APO certification, floating lens design and telephoto macro functions that the X100 does not have. The ultra-wide angle uses the same specifications.

Another big difference between the two is the battery and charging speed. The X100 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery capacity and 120W ultra-fast charging, without wireless charging; while the X100 Pro has a 5400mAh battery capacity, equipped with a slightly slower 100W wired flash charging, but has 50W Wireless Lightning. Since the specifications of the two are similar, there is not much difference in price. The X100 starts at about NT$17,750, while the X100 Pro starts at NT$22,250, a price difference of about NT$4,500. Vivo currently plans to launch the X100 series in the Taiwan market in December. According to past practice, the price is expected to be higher than the price in China.
