The group of PJD deputies wants to hear the Wali of Bank Al-Maghrib, Abdellatif Jouahri, and the Minister of Finance and Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui. A demand in this sense was addressed to the chairman of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives to “examine the impact of high inflation and the increase in the key rate on the national economy”, explain the Islamist parliamentarians.
As a reminder, the board of directors of BAM, during its meeting of March 21, justified the raising of the key rate to 3% in order to “prevent the triggering of self-sustaining inflationary spirals” and “to favor the return of the inflation at levels in line with the price stability objective. During this meeting, the Bank Al-Maghrib body also noted that “overall expenses increased by 15.9%, reflecting in particular the increase in the compensation charge”.
The request of the group of deputies of the PJD will be presented to the Akhannouch government for approval.
