Sunday, we learned from Adrian Wojnarowski that the young leader PJ Dozier was going to join our national Rudy on the Minnesota side. Good news for the kid following a difficult year, and new reinforcement for a franchise that promises to be an ever so serious outsider.
The EuroBasket barely finished that we start thinking NBA once more, of course. 30 previews in 30 days, with Spurs as starters, you know the song. Among the choruses of this song there is a franchise that we will tell you regarding… later (in… October?), because they are, on paper at least, much better than last season: the Minnesota Timberwolves. The big trade of the summer is for them, the arrival of Rudy Gobert once morest four players and a slew of picks, and we therefore find ourselves with a very full racket. Karl-Anthony Towns will play at position 4, and Naz Reid, Kyle Anderson, Eric Paschall and veteran Taurean Prince will be the back-ups in the paint. One of the best indoor sectors in the League, and a franchise that will finally have to be taken seriously. At the frontcourt level, the recipe remains the same with the duo D’Angelo Russell creating and Anthony Edwards scoring, while Jordan McLaughlin remains the only real leader off the bench. Behind ? It’s going to be a tough fight at post 2, and three new ones are going to fight it out: Austin Rivers, Bryn Forbes and PJ Dozier.
Free agent PJ Dozier is signing a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell ESPN. Dozier is coming back from a December 2021 ACL injury. Dozier played with Denver under new Wolves president Tim Connelly.

“Free agent PJ Dozier will sign a contract in Minnesota. Dozier is coming back from a ruptured cruciate ligament, contracted in December 2021. He played in Denver for new Wolves president Tim Connelly. »
November 24, 2021, rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, end of the season. January 19, 2022, a trade from Denver to Boston. February 10, another from Boston to Orlando. PJ Dozier was dragged around the United States during his recovery, and we mightn’t wait for it to end. That’s good, he is fully recovered from his injury and will be able – perhaps – to confirm the promises he had shown in Denver. 19 minutes, 6.7 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds per game, and above all a top level defense, not bad for a back-up under 25. On top of that, he will find an environment he knows well. Indeed, Tim Connelly, GM of the Nuggets since 2013, joined Wolves this summer… and it shows. Rivers, Forbes, Dozier: three new fullbacks, three ex-Denver. If he wanted to reform the Nuggets, it was not worth changing the franchise, and between us we would have rather bet on another triplet, hoping that he did not confuse Rudy Gobert and Nikola Jokić since they have almost the same qualities.
Finally some good news for PJ Dozier! We will have to fight for a place in the rotation, but finding the floors is already a lot, almost a year following a huge stop. Depth for the Wolves, enough to imitate the Nuggets until the end by passing a round of Playoffs?
