Pixel Pals now lets you create a virtual pet on your iPhone’s Home screen

If you are one of those who enjoy the idea of taking care of a virtual pet, you have probably already heard regarding the Pixel Palsan app that allows you to add “pixelated” pets as widgets to the iPhone or iPad Home screen.

Although it was already very popular, the app did not operate at its full potential due to the limitations of Apple’s operating systems. But that changed with the release of the recently released iOS/iPadOS 17 interactive widgets.

Pixel Pals has been updated on the App Store to version 2.0 and now allows you to interact directly with your favorite animal without having to open the application — something that was previously only possible on the Dynamic Island two iPhone 14 Pro.

Also offering exploration games on the Home screen and previews in Live Activities (Live Activities), Pixel Pals 2.0 even allows you to add friends whose pets can simply “invade” your Home screen and fight your pet.

Another good news is that the application now also supports Standby mode (StandBy), allowing actions such as counting sheep before bed or simply walking your pets while the iPhone charges.

Finally, the app is also adding new animals, in addition to the wide variety already available. They can be personalized and have their names changed for greater “exclusivity”.

Although Pixel Pals is free to download, you will only be able to access the dog and cat freely by paying for a subscription (R$11/month or R$80/something) or by purchasing the app (one-time purchase of R$250) in order to use it fully.
