Pirate IPTV: Five men arrested for operating illegal television service in the UK

Five men have been sentenced to prison for operating a pirated IPTV (internet protocol television) service in the UK. The criminals were apprehended following illegally broadcasting Premier League football matches, considered “one of the most valuable content in the world”, according to lawyers for the sports league.

Called “Flawless TV”, the platform made content from different genres illegally available to more than 50,000 viewers. According to information released by the BCC News on Tuesday (30), the scheme moved an estimated £7.2 million — around BRL 45 million — between 2016 and 2021.

The monthly fee for the service cost £10, that is, regarding R$63. When making this payment, the platform offered more than 300 channels that might be accessed through mobile devices or on a Smart TV. Furthermore, the operators of the illegal service offered 24/7 customer service and support.

Information from several people who paid for the service is in the hands of the investigators responsible for the operation. No word yet on any actions that might be taken once morest these individuals, as in some cases they may not have known that Flawless TV was an illegal IPTV platform.

The “leader” of the Flawless TV operation, Mark Gould, 36, was sentenced to 11 years in prison. The other members of the criminal scheme were sentenced to terms of 3 to 5 years. Authorities discovered that one of the other members, Christopher Felvus, 36, had images potentially related to child abuse on his computer.

Doug Love, the investigator who led the bust in Gould’s apartment, says no one realized how far-reaching Flawless TV was. “When we walked into a guest room, there were 20 or 30 decoders going,” Love told BBC News.

Pirate IPTV to be fought by Anatel



The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) is closing the siege once morest the illegal display of content on internet television sets (IPTV) in Brazil. In partnership with the National Film Agency (Ancine), the regulatory body is creating a laboratory to intercept unauthorized transmissions. The structure should be completed this year.
