Piquetera Unit hardens and launches a new plan to fight in the streets

National plenary session in Plaza de Mayo and the staggered plan of struggle are part of the menu of actions that the Piquetera Unit plans to put into practice to reject the casualties of Empowering Work that Victoria Tolosa Paz, the Minister of Social Development, implemented due to the lack of data validation of holders of said social assistance.

The main referents of the most combative social movements, among which stand out the Polo Obrero, Libres del Sur, the MST Teresa Vive and the Coordinadora por el Cambio Social, blocked traffic on the Pueyrredón Bridge this Friday and appeared at the Buenos Aires Obelisk to announce that on March 3 they will hold an assembly, which they hope will be massive and that it can bring together new groups that today do not agree with the Government.

In the call, they indicated that “it is undeniable that the December memorandum of the Fund has been what determined the adjustment policy of the last stage. The body has congratulated Minister Massa for the Budget that he had Parliament approve with the support of the opposition. He asked him in that same document that the plans and social assistance had to be reduced ”.

In turn, they mentioned “the need to face the adjustment by pushing down the reaction of the workers, through grassroots plenary sessions, assemblies and meetings that demand from the CGT and the CTA a national strike and a plan to fight for a salary equal to the family basket.

Regarding the actions that can be carried out as a sign of protest once morest the portfolio’s decision, Damaris Rolón, figure of the Coordinator, anticipated in contact with PROFILE that they can move forward with roadblocks and accesses throughout the country, which include camping in the City of Buenos Aires, and does not rule out a “massive federal march” for next month. “We must denounce the adjustment that the ministry and the government are carrying out,” declared the referent.

On the subject, the former national deputy defended what was done by the portfolio, with a validation process in which 1,265,000 holders from all over the country carried out the procedure in the times stipulated by the ministry. But 100,000 holders did not complete the request and were suspended, although they have one month to comply with the provision and recover the state benefit.
