Pinot, the beautiful Giro
The top 10 has not changed and Thibaut Pinot therefore ends his last Tour of Italy on a double positive note: 5th place overall, the best result for a Frenchman since Franc-Comtois himself (4th in 2017), and an azzurro best climber’s jersey which allows him to climb the podium in Rome. This is the second time in three editions that a Frenchman has won this prize following Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R-Citroën) in 2021. He will only have missed one stage victory, he who came close to it twice (2nd in Crans Montana and Val di Zoldo).
