Eva Pinkelnig celebrated her sixth win of the season at the World Cup ski jumping in Hinzenbach and thus further extended her lead in the overall World Cup.

The two Slovenians Ema Klinec (-3.9 points) and Nika Prevc (-6.2 points) completed the podium.

Pinkelnig laid the foundation for her victory with the day’s maximum distance of 91.5 meters in the first round. In the final, the woman from Vorarlberg in the yellow jersey kept her nerves and confidently defended her lead with another best distance (89.5 m).

Eva Pinkelnig: “It feels incredible. I would like to thank the whole team from the bottom of my heart for recruiting me perfectly again. In the last few days I’ve been able to clear my head at home with my family and also while skiing, because lately there was a lot of hype about me that you have to deal with. This afternoon I sat on the bakken again with a big ‘grin’ and showed three relaxed jumps. Thanks also go to the OK team, which prepared the hill perfectly.”

The other Austrians also showed strong performances in the home jumping in the well-attended Energie AG Ski Jumping Arena. Chiara Kreuzer, third after the first round, finished sixth in the final. The Salzburg native was 4.1 points short of a podium place. Local hero Jacqueline Seifriedsberger achieved her best result of the season in 13th place.

Chiara Cruiser (6th) “More would have been possible. I showed good jumps in the practice round and the first round. I messed up the second round a bit, but it was still sixth place with a lot of potential for improvement. I hope I can capitalize on that tomorrow.”

Julia Mühlbacher also put a great talent test. The 18-year-old from Upper Austria made it to 20th place with two constant jumps and was happy about her best World Cup result so far.

There were also World Cup points for Hannah Wiegele, who finished 28th in the first of two Hinzenbach competitions. Although Katharina Ellmauer managed to qualify and started in her first World Cup competition, with 38th place in the first round, the Salzburg native missed the leap into the final round.

Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (13.): “I’m very satisfied with today, especially the first jump was great. Now I’m looking forward to my best result of the season and to tomorrow, when I can hopefully show two strong jumps.”

Julia Mühlbacher (20th): “I’m very satisfied with the first round, the second could have been even better. The jumps are very fluid and constant at the moment. I want to take this momentum into tomorrow’s competition.”
