Pink October: mobilization continues

Eymoutiers. 1410 To raise awareness of cancer screening, stands are set up. Last week, a stand for information, appointments and screening kit discounts for three types of cancer, including breast cancer, was set up on Place Stalingrad in Eymoutiers during the weekly market as part of the national operation “Pink October”.

On site, people were able to have an interview with Dr Lavau-Denes, schedule a gynecological appointment or a mammogram at the Limoges university hospital center or at the private medical group of Limousin scanners.

About thirty people

About thirty people thus met the team, and several of them have made appointments which they will be able to go to collectively in a vehicle chartered by the municipality of Peyrat-le-Château. This event was programmed by the municipality of Pelaude in association with that of Peyrat-le-Château as well as the Maison de santé, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine coordination center for cancer screening and the League once morest cancer. A similar action will take place today in Peyrat-le-Château.

According to Deborah Prince of cancer screening in the department, this sector still has insufficient screening coverage given the number of cancers recorded. The Haute-Vienne cancer screening structure aims to continue to raise awareness among the inhabitants of other municipalities in the sector in order to pool trips to medical structures where screenings are possible and thus increase coverage for detecting cancers or pre-cancers with a view to reducing cases.
