ADAC, ANWB and TCS are investing in the PiNCAMP camping platform and are thus pooling their resources in order to develop their digital activities linked to camping. The joint booking platform now reaches 27 million members.
ADAC (Germany), ANWB (Netherlands) and Touring Club Switzerland are merging their camping-related digital activities into one company. To do this, ANWB and TCS are joining forces with the portal ADAC Camping GmbH, which will be renamed PiNCAMP GmbH from January 2024. With 52.5 percent of the shares, ADAC remains the majority shareholder. ANWB holds 42 percent and TCS 5.5 percent. Shareholders are investing 6.6 million euros to ensure the merger goes smoothly and continued growth in other European markets.
With direct access to the 27 million members of these three mobility clubs, PiNCAMP represents one of the largest camping portals in Europe. PiNCAMP will soon also be available in English, French and Italian.
Benefits for camping enthusiasts
The pooling of digital camping activities managed by the three mobility clubs offers real advantages for the camping sector and its enthusiasts. The German, Dutch and Swiss populations spend more than 130 million nights camping every year. With the creation of a single portal on the three different domains (anwbcamping.nl, pincamp.de and pincamp.ch), PiNCAMP GmbH centralizes almost 30 percent of the global market demand. This simplification facilitates processes and reduces administrative costs for campsites. Due to the different holiday periods in the three countries, PiNCAMP also ensures a more regular occupancy rate of the campsites, particularly during the low season.
The merger onto a single platform also offers significant advantages for campers, as Uwe Frers, camping expert and director of the new PiNCAMP platform, explains: “With the growth that camping has experienced in recent Over the years, demand has continued to increase. More and more people are looking to spend nights in a campsite. For them, finding a free pitch remains the major difficulty. With PiNCAMP, this is no longer a problem. Indeed, this system allows them to generate turnover by allocating locations that would not otherwise have found a buyer. A long-standing presence in the camping sector
For more than 70 years now, camping has occupied an important place within the three mobility clubs. The ANWB published its first guide in 1933, the TCS opened its first campsites in 1949 and the ADAC launched a guide in 1955. Over time, trusting and lasting relationships developed between the three clubs. mobility.
