The presenter from Villavicencio told of the difficult moment her daughter experienced due to a health breakdown that caused her to be urgently taken to the hospital.
In an interview with the entertainment program ‘La Red’, the model revealed that it all started when she called Sara Sofía and found out that she was on her way to a hospital for a severe headache.

The young woman, 19 years old, also went to the interview and revealed what happened: “They let me go, they told me, you have nothing, go home, it’s just a headache.”
“Sara told me: ‘I don’t feel like myself’ (…). They called her a capricious girl, you are 19 years old, you have anxiety, and we don’t take care of us,” said the presenter.

The insistence of both persisted and they managed to find out that the young woman actually had a foramen ovale. “It’s a little hole in the heart that doesn’t close for 30 percent of the population and nothing happens. Some giant, old thrombi that entered through the little hole and went to the head. An arterial thrombosis and that’s where the heart attack occurred.” , said the presenter.
After this, Sara Sofía had to undergo surgery and underwent cardiac catheterization surgery to correct the defect. “They put a talisman on it, which is a little umbrella, which closes the little gap,” said Schmitt.

“I start to think regarding everything that happened and might have been fatal, Sara might have died. It is a learning to reevaluate life, to see that we are like shells of an egg, that we are very fragile, we are vulnerable and we must live in the present, conscious of enjoying family, the most valuable thing,” said the presenter.
At the moment, the young woman is stable and feels much better in health. She thanked her mother for always being there.
