An investigation targeting comedian Pierre Palmade was opened on Saturday February 18 for “possession of child pornography images”. A second witness was heard on Tuesday 21 February. Here’s what we know regarding the case.
Indicted on Friday February 17 for “aggravated homicide and involuntary injuries” following a road accident, Pierre Palmade is once once more cited in a judicial inquiry. According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, the comedian is now targeted by a preliminary investigation by the head of “possession of child pornography images”.
A report at the origin of this second investigation
According to the first elements, a man would have contacted the police, this Saturday, February 18, claiming that he had in his possession video and audio documents which showed that the comedian had child pornography images.
On these documents, Pierre Palmade would be watching pornographic films featuring minors.
An investigation entrusted to the Brigade for the protection of minors
An investigation was therefore opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office, which summoned this individual to interview him. Thus, the author of this report was heard at length this Sunday by investigators from the Brigade for the Protection of Minors (BPM), reported the public prosecutor.
However, the individual did not have in his possession the elements incriminating the comedian, so he might not give anything to the investigators.
A search carried out at the home of the comedian
Later this Sunday, the Parisian home of Pierre Palmade was once more searched, announced the prosecution.
Contacted by AFP, the comedian’s lawyer, Maître Céline Lasek, did not wish to speak. However, Pierre Palmade should be quickly heard by the police as part of this new procedure.
The 54-year-old comedian was indicted for manslaughter following causing a serious road accident on February 10 when he tested positive for cocaine. Pierre Palmade is currently under house arrest under electronic surveillance at the Paul-Brousse hospital in Villejuif in an addiction service.
A second witness heard
A second man was heard Tuesday, February 21 as a witness. He gave investigators from the Brigade for the Protection of Minors (BPM) video material, which is being processed, said the public prosecutor.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the second man interviewed claims to have a video showing Pierre Palmade viewing a child pornography video. According to another source, this man lives in Bordeaux.
