“I spoke to him four hours before he died. He was in his bed in intensive care in Quebec. Denise, his girlfriend, told me if you want, I’ll put the phone on speaker next to his ear. I told him “Pierre is Robert. I have always loved you, I love you, you are my friend” and Denise told me that he opened his eyes, “explains the author of the biography by Pierre Marcotte.

Accompanied by his girlfriend and one of his sons at his bedside, Pierre Marcotte “left peacefully” according to his friend.

The host of the program “Les tannants” which was very successful during the 1970s on Télé-Métropole was very involved in the projects he was undertaking.

“Pierre was very generous. When he embarks on a project, he embarks 100%. He was a real captain for the Fondation des artistes and I don’t remember having seen him say no to a request, he was always available and his salary as president was $0.00,” underlines Mr. Maltais.

Despite his busy schedule, he always took a moment to have fun with his team.

“He was a cheerful, good-natured man who was always ready to help with a tough head,” he says.
