Pierre Gasly joins Alpine, replaced by Nick de Vries

Two Formula 1 teams have confirmed their roster for the 2023 season – Pierre Gasly will be Esteban Ocon’s teammate at Alpine, and Nick de Vries will take the place of the Frenchman at AlphaTauri. Together with de Vries, Yuki Tsunoda will continue to perform at AlphaTauri.

Pierre Gasly: “I am excited to join the Alpine family and start a new chapter in my career. Playing for a team with French roots is something special. I know Alpine’s strengths as I have struggled with its riders in recent years – the team’s progress and ambition is very impressive.

I want to thank Red Bull for nine years together. Thanks to their support and trust, I became a Formula 1 driver, and our achievements with AlphaTauri in recent years are truly phenomenal.

Speaking of the future, I want to give my best and use all my experience to fight for podiums and ultimately contribute to Alpine’s title challenge in the future.”

Nick de Vries: “I am very excited to join AlphaTauri for the 2023 season. I thank both Red Bull teams for the opportunity to drive in Formula 1. After Formula 2, I raced in various racing series, but I always dreamed of Formula 1, and now I am grateful for this opportunity. I had many opportunities to evaluate the 2022 car and I believe it helped me prepare for the upcoming season.

For most of my youth, I raced karts in Italy, so I feel at home in this country and I am glad to join the Italian team. I look forward to meeting everyone to start building relationships before next season.”
