Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave OM for Saudi Arabia

Curtain call. After a successful season at OM, with thirty goals in all competitions, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has decided to sign with the Saudi club Al-Qadsiah, for two seasons. The entourage of the 35-year-old striker, who was under contract until June 2026 with Marseille, informed the OM management of his choice, even if president Longoria would still like the player to tell him, directly, given their excellent past relations. Roberto De Zerbi, the new Marseille coach, would have liked to keep the Gabonese and he repeated it to him in his office last week.

The management was also aligned, as it is difficult to find a reliable center forward on the market. Aubameyang was the highest earner at OM (with bonuses included, an estimate of €700,000 gross monthly). OM would like to recover a small transfer fee and have made this known to the sporting director of the Saudi club, who was recently in Marseille. The deal should be wrapped up within 48 hours.
