As expected, Pierer Mobility AG (formerly KTM Industries) saw strong growth in both sales and profits in 2022. Proceeds from sales increased by almost a fifth to EUR 2.437 billion, preliminary operating profit (EBIT) improved by 22 percent to EUR 235 million and earnings before taxes (EBT) increased by 13 percent to EUR 215.9 million , as the company announced.
Pierer Mobility sold 13 percent more motorcycles last year – of which 268,575 were KTM, 75,266 Husqvarna and 31,651 GasGas. In Europe, sales were around 122,000 motorcycles (plus 2 percent), around two thirds of the motorcycles (around 253,000) were sold outside of Europe. In North America, sales increased by two-thirds to almost 110,000 motorcycles.
Sales of bicycles (Husqvarna, R Raymon, GasGas and Felt) increased by more than 15 percent to 118,465 units. Of these, 74,479 were electric bikes. Four fifths of sales are in Europe, especially in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
At EUR 381 million, the operating result before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was around EUR 50 million higher than in the previous year. The EBITDA margin was 15.6 percent.
