Piedad Córdoba, a senator elected by the Historical Pact, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Clínica del Rosario in Medellín for presenting acute low blood pressure.

The clinic issued a communiqué confirming that the parliamentarian has been hospitalized since Sunday, July 17.

This Monday she underwent tests to determine her state of health.

Córdoba, 67 years old, is experiencing moments of tension due to the legal situation that he faces with the United States.

Gustavo Petro himself, president-elect of Colombia, asked the senator at the end of June to “step aside” while he resolves his situation.

In an interview with the magazine Change, reviewed by TimePetro spoke of the legal situation experienced by the senator of the Historical Pact. Do you recommend that Piedad not take possession? He was asked:

“The non-possession has judicial implications, also serious constitutional ones. I wouldn’t talk regarding it. But I would say that Senator Piedad Córdoba, given the fact that there is some kind of relationship with the United States justice system, hopefully favorable to them, should, yes, have a compass, because her political actions as a senator are influenced by a objective fact,” said the president-elect of Colombia.

And he added: «And there is a relationship with foreign justice, which I cannot qualify. So that would merit her stepping aside, even as a senator ».
